Will Susan Collins run for governor in 2018, or will Collins stay in the Senate at least until her term expires?

I doubt it, if only because she'd almost certainly lose a primary (and might well lose one in her Senate race in 2020 as well).

I think she will choose not to run. I've been wrong before though.

I hope she doesn't run so that we get a handful of candidates on the GOP side. Collins running in my mind means almost certainly it will be her vs. Mayhew for the nomination with no other serious candidates.

Collins is very popular in Maine. Collins has a very high approval rating.

Not among voters in GOP primaries.

Nevertheless - they are not idiots (mostly, at least). To risk losing sure seat for the sake of "ideological purity" is not an appealing idea even for most of those, who disagrees with her. Though idiots, surely, do exist. In BOTH parties..

I would not be surprised if Collins becomes an Independent, or even a Democrat.

Susan Collins would probably win the general easily as an independent, especially with the new voting method there.

RCV was deemed unconstitutional by the state Supreme Court

What a pathetic failure by the democrats, developed an unconstitutional answer to the fact that too many people vote republican and chose LePage to represent them for 8 years.

RCV was not developed by Democrats, it was in the ballot & the people of Maine voted for it & chose it.

Why on earth do right wing posters make such embarrassing comments?

In Maine they were the ones pushing for it because they couldn't stand to lose two elections in a row by a plurality vote, including the 39% vote the put LePage in power.

In the end they won by only 4 percent despite massively outspending the opponents of RCV with nearly every undecided breaking against it (the last poll showed yes leading 49-31), only to be ruled unconstitutional.

LePage would have won in 2014 anyway, it was the first sign that every stetewide race featuring an dem leaning independent will be won by the GOP after the rightward turn the state has taken, an amount just shy of the majority wanted LePage despite all the talk that he was beatable, if he runs for Senate and both Angus King and a democrat run, he wins again.

In case anyone was still interested, Collins has said she will make a decision by the end of September.

Meanwhile, sources are saying she's much closer to running than she was previously.

LePage has said Collins won't win a GOP primary.

One of those previous articles also mentions that Rick Bennett, former State GOP Chair has decided not to run. Mayhew is still the only declared Republican.

I'd give it a 35% chance that she runs but that could increase if Trump continues to attack Congress

If she resigns from the senate between being elected and being sworn in, then LePage, if she resigned after being sworn in, then her.
