I personally don't care so much about the smoking age (let states decide), but I support more extensive public smoking bans. It's one thing if they poison themselves at home. It's another when I (and everyone else walking by) have to breath it in.

For just about anything I say leave it up to the states.  It should be 18 at the federal level.

It's just a big government way to try and discourage smoking. Instead it should just be left at 18, the legal adult age. If people are dumb enough to start smoking during their young adult years then a ban isn't going to stop them. People have all sorts of information available to them about smoking and its effects, that should be enough to discourage people.

And yes the drinking age should be 18 as well.
