This is a D+31 district, in case anyone was wondering.

It's a little ironic since just last year, Chaka Fattah in neighboring PA-02 resigned after being indicted for racketeering. I hope Brady resigns if this turns out to be serious.

True, but I like Brady's tough man style. He is just like George Norcross, Joseph Crowley, Michael Madigan.

He also simultaneously remains chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party. I think members of Congress should be bared from holding such leadership positions while in office, I think that's part of the problem.

Reminder that Fattah only resigned after losing renomination.

PA Politicians are such a slime pit of corruption for some reason,  about as bad as NJ.

its always flown under the radar compared to chicago and new orleans but it is a legit contender. I personally lean right, but if I were a philly area democrat i'd be furious with how this continues to operate

If I lived in Philly, I'd volunteer for a primary challenger's campaign. I'm not the kind that tolerates corruption from my own party.

I don't disagree, but how common is that? On both sides of the aisle? Maybe I'm naive, but it seems uncommon, and I come from a machine-run city.

Bump:

The FBI is investigating Bob Brady to determine whether he bribed his primary opponent to withdraw.

That anecdote alone is why he's one of the best members of Congress.

Unfortunately, it is time for him to go.  Drain the swamp and all that.

Honest question: why is this illegal?
