A declaration to all

Should any power attempt military action against Genoa, they shall do so under the threat of being blacklisted by all Venetian traders and the threat of economic war. We may be bitter enemies of Genoa, but any power who takes over the nation will no doubt have designs on Venice. Rest assured, no power will be allowed to threaten Venice.

His Sacred and Imperial Majesty was greatly distressed upon receiving the news of his vassals' ships targeting neutral vessels of Venice. The matter is being looked into.

His Majesty King Frederick II of Prussia is pleased to announce that after some negotiations undertaken with the Kingdom of Sweden a separate peace between Sweden and the Anglo-Prussian-Ottoman-Danish Alliance is to be concluded, putting an end to one of the most noteworthy theaters of the current war and hopefully signaling a new age of peace and cooperating between our alliance and Sweden:

By the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg

A Proclamation from Kensington Palace

For several years now, His Majesty the King has valiently led his realms through the most trying times of his glorious reign. On the Continent, the enemies of the realms drew their swords, polished their guns, and began beating their war drums. Within the Isles, the enemies of the Crown reared their heads once again and readied their banners. But His Majesty the King stood firm, and the tide is changing. The treasonous Bonnie Prince Charlie has been vanquished, and his father the foolish James Stuart lies in hiding in the dinge of a European capital. Peace has been achieved with the King of Sweden, the Austrians have been crushed, and the days of conflict with the King in France are dwindling. Glorious days of peace are returning to our fair realms once again.

To further the cause of peace, His Majesty the King has decided to consent to the proposal from his brother-in-law Frederick of Prussia and dissolve the Holy Roman Empire. The time for that archaic institution and its conflation of minor princes to the realms of Gods has come to its natural end. Ending the Holy Roman Empire, which has been neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire for many centuries now, is the next step in the great modernization of Europe and the world.

God Save the King!

His Sacred and Imperial Majesty stands with his decision no repercussion shall come upon the people of Egypt at large, as their distress had been sinisterly exploited by foreign agents. However, to prevent new disturbances, garrisoned troops are to be reinforced and stay on alert.

His Sacred and Imperial Majesty is very angry at the officials, who didn't keep him properly informed of the situation and who, despite his orders to undertake works to improve longstanding economic situation of the fellahs of Egypt, let this get out of hand.

CHAOS IN GERMANY!
Declaration of the "Imperial League"!

With Frederick II's Decree of June 1758 (with the support of the Electors of Hanover and Bavaria) stating the end of the Holy Roman Empire, the numerous thus-far neutral territories in Germany found themselves forced to confront the new reality. They could either join Prussia and their numerous allies in the German League or listen to the calls of Francis of Lorraine to join the fight to protect the Empire. With the city of Regensburg surrounded by hostile Bavaria, Francis ordered the Imperial Diet to convene in the Free City of Frankfurt. Many observers were surprised by the number of Princes that either showed up or sent representatives, though much of North Germany was absent. With the members of the German League naturally not sending any representatives, the Diet was a one-sided affair.

The first move by those supportive of Francis and the Empire was to reaffirm the authority of that body. The Archbishop-Electors of Trier, Mainz, and Cologne joined Frederick Christian (the exiled Duke of Saxony) and Francis I (acting as regent for his son) in voting to keep the Empire in place. Their supposed majority undercut Prussia's argument of having the authority of most Princes, though others noted Frederick Christian and Francis only had tenuous rights to cast votes, considering Saxony and Bohemia were at present occupied by Prussia.

Imperial Bans (Reichsacht) were easily passed against Frederick of Prussia and George of Great Britain. These decrees meant, in the eyes of members of the Holy Roman Empire, they were legally considered dead. In theory all of their possessions were considered forfeit, they could be murdered without punishment for the assailants, and their titles were no longer theirs. The success of these measures was met with applause on the floor of the Diet, though some delegations chose this moment to quietly withdraw, hoping to maintain their neutrality. Several days later it was agreed by those present that the vassals would take up arms for Francis I against Prussia and Hanover.

Allies of Francis soon declared their alliance "The Imperial League" in order to contrast directly with Prussia and her allies. The Archbishops were the first to join in large numbers. With Portugal's exit from the War, the Prussia's alliance lacked any major Catholic members, save for the minor Princes who joined out of convenience. Many other Catholics, and a few Protestants, soon followed their example.

There was a response from some other German nobles who saw the Imperial League itself as a threat. Hamburg, Coburg, Gotha, and Saxe-Weimar (among others) joined Frederick of Prussia and the German League, renouncing the Holy Roman Empire.

There are reports of intial skirmishes throughout all of Germany. A group of Protestants was slaughtered in Westfalen by over-zealous subjects, while several priests were assasinated in Ravensberg. Observers are quite unsure of how the situation will develop, with pessimists harkening back to the horrors of the Thirty Years War. Whatever the case, while Prussia and her allies remain quite strong, and even bolstered by the new members of the German League, Francis of Lorraine seems to have finally developed a serious counterbalance to their threat. If it will suceed remains to be seen.

The War has exploded into a new theater that has thus far been quiet. The future of Germany will be determined by the events of the coming months and years...

German League: Prussia, Hanover, Bavaria, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Mecklenburg-Schwieren, Oldenburg, Ansbach, Baden, Wurtemburg, the Palatine, Braunschwieg, Hesse-Kassel, Saxe-Weimar, Gotha, Coburg, Hamburg, Meinigen, Bremen, Ravensberg, Minden, Hohenzollern, Anhalt-Bernburg

Proclamation from the King of France

As being the King of a country being at war, being allied or having been at war having been allied with all the countries currently engaged in this war. I have never seen a conflict that has been so destructive. Russia has ended in a civil war, and it is now starting in Germany as well.

You may despise me or at best consider me as the lesser evil, and believe me I feel the same about you. But if this war continues, it will simply destroy all our realms, kill all our population no matter which religion they’re currently affiliated to.

And this is why I make this official declaration : it is time to avoid the war escalating even more. King Frederick and Emperor Francis, it is now more vital than ever to end this war.

His Sacred and Imperial Majesty is extremely troubled with the declaration issues by a self-proclaimed "Imperial Diet" which was basically passing a death sentence in absentia imposed upon Kings of Prussia and Great Britain, monarchs anointed by God. The fact it was an empty gesture doesn't change the horrifying significance of this mad statement.

All sovereigns of Europe, regardless of political disputes, ought to condemn this monstrosity, otherwise there's nothing stopping one king from condemning another king to death like some common scoundrel. This is nothing short of sacrilege.

The Collapse of the Mughal Empire

Mughal greatness never really recovered from the Sack of Delhi by the Persians early on the the 1700s. After a string of humiliating defeats in the current war, as well as the occupation of much of their Empire, the situation became untenable. The two century old dynasty, ruled by the descendants of the renowned Tamerlane, has essentially ceased to be a major power in India.

Emperor Alamgir II of the Mughals established a peace with France and the Maratha Confederacy in the 1758 Treaty of Delhi. Hoping to cut his losses and rebuild his realm, he instead faced internal dissent and sepratism upon signing the treaty. Gujarat was ceded to France, with the Maratha Confederacy annexing territory along the southern border. In the postwar crisis, Ahmad Shah Durrani, a former vassal, declared independence and led an army in pillaging Delhi itself. Other local officials similarly severed ties with the Mughals, many small states arising in their former territory. Though Alamgir continues to rule a small shell of his former realm, most observers believe his days are numbered.

The Maratha, who are already unstable from the addition of so much territory, seem to be signalling a desire to annex these new polities, but European observers likewise see an opportunity. Perhaps these small realms would yield easily to foreign invasion, or at very least be willing to become protected vassals of one of the colonial powers?

In any case, the old order in India has been smashed, never to return. Whether the new one will consist of Maratha dominance, colonial subjugation, various small realms fighting on another, or something else entirely will only be made clear through the passage of time.

Proclamations from Berlin

1.- His Majesty King Frederick is pleased to inform President Paoli and the Corsican Government have accepted their proposal, understanding the relevance of Corsica governing itself in autonomy while under the protection of the Prussian crown. His Majesty therefore and hereby assumes the title King of Corsica, and appoints his youngest brother Prince Augustus Ferdinand as Viceroy, assuming ceremonial duties and strengthening the bond between Prussia and Corsica.

2.- It is with hope and optimism that we see peace with Sweden at last concluded and signed, ending here and now any opposed territorial claims between Sweden and Prussia and establishing Pomerania as a formal, lasting province of the Kingdom of Prussia and Corsica. We hail the brave soldiers who fought across Pomerania and Norway and their commanders Field Marshal Keith and Prince Henry, and we salute the bravery and honor of both the Danish and
Swedish armies.

3.- We do not recognize the so called "reunion" of the defunct "Imperial Diet" in Frankfurt, nor we recognize their hostile, outrageous declarations. The thrones of Bohemia and Saxony remain vacant with no monarch crowned, and so no one possesses the right to cast votes for those titles. All Francis of Lorraine has for his propaganda efforts are the votes of three Archbishop-Electors, against whom stand a clear joint Protestant and Catholic majority of Brandenburg, Hanover, Bavaria and the Palatinate.

Any pretense of good, noble intentions by Francis of Lorraine has been refuted by his own actions, daring to pass sentence of death upon our good friend and ally King George and His Majesty King Frederick as well, combined with the open calls by Francis to extend war across all of Germany, and worse, to turn it into a religious war that only suits his purposes. Shame on Francis of Lorraine, the tyrannical maniac who purports to sink us in a sea of blood, shame on him and his efforts to pit German against German, Catholic against Protestant.

We thank our allies in the German League who continue to stand by us and those who have joined our cause. We stand with the majority of the Prince Electors, we stand with the majority of Germany, and we shall prevail in the fight against tyranny.

4.- We've considered France an enemy for the past two years, and fought against King Louis with determination. But His Majesty the King of France speaks the truth, the rising escalation of this war and the calls of irresponsible monarchs such as Francis I can only make this situation worse, driving us back to the chaos of the Thirty Years War as all of our nations bleed to death. We are committed to fight the tyranny of Francis and his refusals to seek peace, but we do not close the door to peace. We thank King Louis for showing restraint and a willingness to seek peace. We will reach out and talk to others, and we will seek a reasonable solution to conflict.

It is official position of the Sublime Porte that the deposed Duke of Lorraine should be considered as legally insane and, if captured, placed in isolation for his own good and those around him.

- All nobles who declared for Sweden will be imprisoned and numbered. Should their numbers be few, the adult members of the House will be stripped of nobility, and the House's children will be sent to the royal court, as well as those males under the age of thirty, but no others. There, they will be trained to be nobles, and those who excel the highest will have their royal house restored to them. The children under the age of twelve will be restored to their mothers, and, once of age, they, too, may join the contention for the titles. These tests will last for six years, and those under the age of eight will not be eligible for the titles. All must pass two years, and then the best and brightest will be selected to be nobles. The others of the household will be judged and all found guilty of treason will be sentenced to life in prison. Should any ever escape or be found plotting to help enemies of Denmark, two of their House will be executed for every one who escapes. If a House has no men between eighteen and thirty, the number may be extended to sixteen, and if still no arise, to twelve and to forty, and these will be kept separate from the other children. Those in the court will be exempted from death unless more nobles escape than remain behind to be killed.

- The ships are to be numbered and counted, and then a decision will be cast once the specifics are known.

After extended and productive negotations, several of the powers involved on this war have reached an agreement for peace, one which we hope will be lasting and helpful. We regret Francis of Lorraine and his Imperial League staying away from the road of peace, but we believe this Treaty of Paris will be of much help to Europe:
