I have a fairly generic ideology with the exception of a few low-profile issues. I'd say JustinTimeCuber, Devout Centrist, Peebs, TDAS04, xingkerui, Virginia, Crumpets, and Antonio V are probably all in the ballpark, to name a few off the top of my head.

Last I checked, I was pretty similar to Computer89, Goldwater, Vosem, Sunrise, and DavidB. It's been a while, though.
Yeah, it has, since me and David agree with each other on very little at this point.
What changed?

Well, on the one hand David has moved more strongly in a nationalistic direction and has become less (liberal)right on economic issues. On the other hand, I have become more firmly globalist in my views. I suppose you could say we both used to be "right wing liberals", but David has become mush less liberal and I am somewhat less right wing.

Goldwater would actually be decently close, but he seems to actually somewhat enjoy disassociating with the current GOP, while its situation plsses me off and makes me determined to help reform it more to my liking, LOL.

I don't think I have any ideological twins here; on the flipside, I can find at least some points of agreement with most posters.

The label that would best fit me now, I think, is national conservative (which does not necessarily imply economic or social conservatism). I'm not a Christian Democrat. Christian Democrats have been the main force behind European integration and also bear much responsibility for mass immigration in Western Europe. Whether my economic views are right-wing or left-wing depends on the country and the level of poverty and income inequality therein; in the Netherlands I am definitely still a right-winger, in Israel or the U.S. I am not.

Probably RINO Tom and Goldwater. Right-wing liberal basically is how I define myself in the Netherlands.

I told you people that the Feds are a center-left party.

Anyway, based on PM score, Simfan and I have virtually the same score, despite being far from ideological "twins".

I'm still to the right of most of my ridiculously Marxist generation. Tongue

The fact that we got the same S score by taking different paths makes it even more amazing in a sense.

Same with me, I also consider myself a national conservative, on the otherhand I used to consider myself a christian democrat but not anymore due to the same things that you don't like about them.

I wasn't sure at one point (although I knew our politics were similar) but having read his summary of political beliefs in individual politics, definitely Santander.

I like these types of threads so bringing this back.

Lots of posters share my economic beliefs (which I'd argue are dead center when it comes to red and maroon avatars on here even if my rhetoric doesn't match well with many of the posters that despise populism) but my social views are more tricky since I have some libertarian tendencies socially but it kinda depends on issue. I'm definitely not socially conservative but more just pragmatic. Angry Socdem is the closest from what I suspect but I haven't searched his posts extensively. LD Smith is close too especially in terms of economics but he's religious and probably isn't socially libertarian at all. Pretty close to Ascott (if not 100% identical in terms of economics) but he is more libertarian socially and is a bit different culturally as he is more religious than I am. Virginia may be similar ideologically to me but I think she's more of a cultural liberal than I am. Among blue avatar posters, Fuzzy Bear I think is the closest, although he's a lot more religious than I am.

MB and Jake are probably some of the closer posters to my ideology and temperament on issues that I prioritize, but I think they're both more populist economically than I am. In other words, I'm on board with the strongest defense possible of civil liberties and Americans' right to privacy and I'm eternally in a position of skepticism as it relates to foreign intervention. I also strongly prioritize electoral reform.

Even though he's functionally a Republican, I'm typically fairly close to Not_Madigan on a lot of issues of economics. I also find myself agreeing with President Johnson (the poster, not the president) on economics more often than not.

In terms of a politician, my closet analogue is Ron Wyden. Of another era, both of Indiana's mid-60's Senators, Vance Hartke and Birch Bayh are close to my views.

Bloomberg comes fairly close. we're both neoliberal globalists, although  I'm somewhat more conservative on economics than he Is.

YE or VPH. Maybe Fuzzy or Santander. My views on abortion have gradually evolved to more of a pro-life stance (ie—supporting a ban on abortions past the 20 week mark when sentience arguably begins, with obvious exceptions for rape, incest and womens’ health). Am more libertarian on other social issues. Not a socialist by any means on economics, but I have views that have gradually evolved and would like a lot more emphasis on early childhood development with Universal Pre-K and Paid Family Leave; pro-child development policies are of the utmost importance in beginnings to eliminate systematic inequalities in opportunities afforded to all children. So I guess you could call me a “Family First” populist.

Seems oddly populist for someone who attacks Atlas blue avatars for being RINOs for not supporting the Trump agenda. Do you want Atlas RINOs in the Dem party?

Not_Madigan in terms of the political matrix. I'm just a bit more socially liberal.
