Putting on moderate hero hat

I am fine with action against NK, because of the danger of keeping them around, and the scale of the leadership's atrocities. Whilst it would be very difficult to manage the aftermath, that is an argument for good management, not turning away.

Taking off moderate hero hat

That said, Trump is a dumb*ss who will almost certainly botch the post-invasion part.

The North just fired an unidentified missile, breaking on CNN.

Is it happening?

Notice that Kim didn't threaten to turn the U.S. into a "sea of fire" or a "pre-emptive strike" or use any of the standard propaganda lines put out by state-run news agencies. There seems to be a difference between those lower-level threats and direct statements from leaders. If you compare the news agency language versus Trump's, the news agency language is more aggressive; but if you compare the language of the two leaders Trump and Kim, Trump's language is more aggressive.

Ironically, him toning down the rhetoric like that might be more alarming if anything.

The recent executive order allowing the Air Force to recall retired pilots was mentioned here as a possible indication of forthcoming trouble.  But the Air Force now says they don't intend to use it:

So why did Trump issue the order?

I give it 10 days at the earliest, unless they have invented teleportation for the military families and non-essential personnel.
