A guy whose middle name is "Hussein" got elected, sexual orientation is not going to be a problem. A lot of white Republicans have no problem with gays and lesbians these days, and even when homosexuality was more controversial, gays were controversial than lesbians.
Despite how the media portrays it, the Democrat Party is not full of bleeding heart SJW liberals. The black Democrats Ms. Baldwin will need to win the EC are VERY conservative when it comes to LGBT issues. They are not coming out to vote for a lesbian, and the attacks on her in a GE whether they be covert or overt will hurt her. She will not be winning a national election anytime soon.

51% = "VERY conservative"? Also that's two years old.

See also the results from the black part of Milwaukee in 2012.

Relative to the rest of the Democratic base? F**k yeah 51% is lol. That's higher than baby boomers as whole - and that's a very Republican cohort.

Assuming that poll is accurate, 55% of the black population lives in the South. I think that's more relevant to their social views than their skin color.

Possibly, but the end effect on Democratic politics is the same, no?

Well, what I'm saying is it might be a little misleading to suggest that the effect would be the same for blacks in every state or even competitive states. Democrats don't really need to win North Carolina and Georgia to win the presidency (not that it wouldn't be nice), and they certainly don't need Alabama or Louisiana. It would be a lot more useful to know the breakdowns in individual states. I mean, it could be a problem for her in the Dem primary where those states matter more, but the post was about the GE.

Another thing is that just because they say they don't support gay marriage, doesn't necessarily mean they would vote against Tammy Baldwin in a GE. It didn't make much difference to the 91% of black voters that supported her in the 2012 senate race, that's for sure. There are lots of other issues that are important. I've never heard a black person say that banning gay marriage was very high on their priorities. Well except maybe Ben Carson.

Tammy Baldwin ran with Obama's coattails helping her in 2012. Oh and it isn't just NC and GA; black turnout is critical to flipping Florida (a fairly southern state) back.

RFKfan1968 is also a black person from the south and I'd wager he's probably on the money with that statement (and FWIW the few black people I know would not be happy voting for a gay/lesbian person - and that's in California).

Actually the libertarian party would likely support prohibition much more than they support the war on drugs since prohibition was a constitutional amendment unlike the war on drugs . Since the libertarian party basically are strict constitutionalists they wouldn't oppose prohibition like the oppose the war on drugs.

An objectively true statement (and not a defense of the Confederacy's motive for seceding, but rather the act of secession itself).

Just in case anybody starts talking sh*t about me just remember that you can mock me as much as you'd like, this does not mean a thing. Firstly, none of you "get" me. I have an extraordinary mind not only as said by me, but also by far more intelligent people than me. I have a friend who's currently studying engineering physics who says I'm one of the few people that can keep up with him in a complicated conversation. Secondly, to all of your surprise, yes I do have friends, I met my best friend 17 years ago and we're like brothers since, he's aware that I'm a brainiac and sometimes calls me a walking encyclopedia, and I don't see why here I have to dumb down myself for the sake of attracting the affection of "internet people". I am who I am and you people know nothing about me, all you can do is make assumptions based on a few internet comments. I can't stop you doing it, but I can choose to either take it seriosly or just entertain myself. And to end with - “The thing about smart people is that they seem like crazy people to dumb people.” - Stephen Hawking. So yeah just remember my brilliance and keep that in mind.

We were subjects of a monarchy that wasn't giving us representation or full voting rights ... the South can't say the same, they were just pissed which way the tide was turning on the enslavement of human beings.

I do not consider myself Jewish.

However, if a Nazi had my personal information, they would consider me a Jewish person.

This does not prevent me from understanding truly how awful some of apartheid nation-Israel policies are.

When you have no good arguments, so you resort to lazy comparisons and/or using lazy moral justifications for foolish policy stances

Antifa was on the side of those who fought hate in Charlottesville and it's disgusting to see the GOP continuously trying to attack Antifa in order to cover up for white supremacists.

What's truly disgusting is to see the left and their media allies continuously trying to whitewash and legitimize violent thugs, most of whom are literal communists, despite the fact that communists have murdered millions and millions of people throughout history (thus meaning that it is not a ''false equivalency'' to suggest that they are as bad as Neo-Nazis).

All the more reason to take them down and melt them into scrap.
Really you do realize that Robert e Lee stonewall Jackson and Jefferson Davis were not racist right?
Everytime we remove a Robert e Lee statue were closer and closer to removing Thomas Jefferson and George Washington and maybe even john Adams heck maybe even honest Abe and FDR should come down I read that FDR said that Robert e Lee is one of the best Americans ever
I say we should only honor MLK Malcom X and obama.

There is a coherent thought in there, somehow.

How you can maintain National Socialism as an ideology of the right (or at least, the economic right) baffles me to no end. Dude, Hitler nationalised private industry and oversaw a precipitous expansion of central government. If that's not left-wing then I don't know what is.

Could've seen that coming. Fox tends to hire attractive women. Unlike MSNBC with Rachel Maddow looking like a 14 year old boy

Though I agree, if you want to kill [Facebook & Google], getting the govt involved in regulating them will do the job quicker than bad PR.  Of course in 10 years you'll just be bitching about whatever replaces them.

authoritarians wants the govt to control everything
