But overall it'll help her. A lot of the resentment against Democratic women is that they are seen as not being under the ownership of white men; particularly if those women are white. It is seen that these women should be the cheerleading brigade for white men, but aren't as they've joined the party of minorities. As a woman of color, white men have less of an ownership feeling towards Harris to begin with; being married to a white man only makes her even less threatening. In some ways she's the perfect Democratic woman to assuage white men's anxieties.

I got really nervous since I thought the brunt would hit the Miami area at first. I am more relieved now because it looks as though it will roast the west coast instead. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see people and stuff destroyed, but if it is inevitable, I would rather have it hit a red area than a blue area. As people correctly pointed out about LA post Katrina, maybe a reverse of that will happened in Florida, which could really help out in 2018 and 2020.

This should give people some real good insight into the "Economic distress" the "White Working Class" was worried about when they all voted for Trump LOL. As I've said many times most of these WWC have above average incomes (50k+), own their own homes, and are relatively economically comfortable, and the only things they think about when they vote are 1) Making sure Blacks don't get Welfare, 2) Making sure Hispanics get deported, 3) Making sure Abortion is banned, 4) Making sure they can buy Assault Rifles, 5) Making sure gays and lesbians can't marry, and finally 6) Making sure America keeps on bombing Muslim countries. Due to this Democrats should not focus on trying to win these people, and should instead try to turnout their base of Nonwhites and young people to flip the three states Trump won by less then a point (MI, PA, and WI).

This is absurd. Its a violation of fundemental human rights and it's not draconian way of interrupting young people's plans and ambitions. The state not exist to provide social cohesion and solidarity. It exists to provide services in exchange for tax dollars. Besides, there's nothing wrong with the atomization and globalization of society.

The terminology of "fundamental human rights" was first formulated during the French Revolution. Revolutionary France was also the first country to institute universal conscription in its modern form.

It is not unreasonable to say that citizenship entails both rights and duties. Those who say that "conscription is slavery" are not much better than the libertarians who say that "taxation is theft".

Bernard grew up in a white bubble. No POC was on his congressional staff, and the Vermont NAACP has never received feedback from the senator. Meanwhile, Vermont has the highest black incarnation rates in the country and Bernard doesn't lift his waving finger to help activate change in his state government. For all the civil right activism in his youth he decides it was best to move from a sizable minority population in New York to the whitest state in the nation.  Should it come to a surprise to non-cultists that Bernie has racial prejudices towards POC?

There is a concern that certain devout portions of their population might push back progress on women's rights and gay rights. I, myself, would not want to see women being shackled into their homes and being forced to wear restrictive clothing. I wouldn't want to see gay marriage and protections be rolled back. I want to be able to walk into Subway and get a ham sandwich (something increasingly difficult in places like the UK). I don't want our cities to turn into the no-go zones of Stockholm or Bradford, or Copenhagen.


...and I wouldn't want Christians pulling that crap either.

This post in a nutshell is why Republicans control the White House, the House, the Senate, the governorships, the state houses, and the state senates. While this hack may have been stupid enough to voice this vile opinion out loud, it is scary to think how many on the left feel this very way. A lot of Democrats would rather see Republicans fail than Americans succeed, which is why Republicans tend to win elections in the end. I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton has the exact same sentiments as this poster.
