Monarchy is all about tradition. Having a monarchy makes sense only if you respect the rules of inheritance. If Britons want William as head-of-state, and are not willing to wait a couple of decades, maybe they should become a republic with a ceremonial president and vote for William as that person.

William, Harry, or their aunt, Princess Anne, Princess Royal would be a good choice.

Charles's reputation has been destroyed since he left Diana for Camilla, who many people still believe, does not look suitable as a princess or a future queen.
