I see this as highly unlikely. An assassinated US Senator by the order of a top Venezuelan official would mean marines on our shores the next day, which isn't exactly on the best interests of the Venezuelan government.

Yeah, I'm with you. Assassinating a US Senator because you were butt hurt at him would be one of the dumbest casus bellis in history
