i certainly dont agree with much of what taft has done as governor.

So what do you agree with?

Bumping this question.  I'm genuinely interested to see why Walter still proudly supports Taft.  What has he done that's so good?

i dont particularly think he has done much of anything good.  ive said many times that he has been a failure at governor.

BUT i do think this thing has turned into a witchhunt.  democrats smell blood in the water and they keep going after him.  it is also obvious that most republicans are fairweather supporters.

taft is a  decent man.  he has been treated unfairly by his opponents

Out of curiosity, if Taft manages to piss off enough people that his approval rating gets into the single digits with 9%, will that be some kind of record, or has some government official gotten lower than that in the past?

Is this unusual behavior for one party when an elected official from the other party has an abysmal approval rating?

no it isnt.

im more disappointed with the republicans.  the righties calling taft a 'rino' is laughable.

like him or hate him, you cant question taft's republican credentials.

1. Can Taft do no right? Tongue

2. The lowest approval rating garnered in the last 20 years or so was 8% approval 88% disapproval for Saddam Hussein. If Taft goes below that...

Saddam Hussein has 8% approval and 4% uncertain?  Can you provide a source...?

I remember seeing a poll in early 2003 with those numbers.  I can't swear by it but I'm pretty sure it's real.

I can't wait to see Taft's approval rating once this issue has settled in.  Hopefully we won't have long to wait, and then we can gloat.

1896?!?  Back then we had Governor William McKinley, and he was much more of a success than the current ingrate.  In the meantime, unless Strickland has secretly invented a time machine, I don't think your suggestion is physically possible I'm afraid.

Well, not for much of 1896. That'd be like saying Clinton was president in 2001.
