John Dibble: Libertarian (yellow)
States Rights: Archconservative (blue)
BRTD: Socialist (red)
Beef: Prairie Populist (green)

I'm going to be away from the forum for the rest of the day.  When I come back I expect to see maps.

States Rights-Republican-156
BRTD-Democratic-152
John Dibble-Classical liberal-139
William Jennings Beef-Populist-89

Did a 1912 map for the hell of it.  Some states were easy to figure like Kansas, the birthplace of Populism.  Others were not-Missouri, Ohio where I just took my best guess.

Like States winning Vermont? Good guess!

He wouldn't get enough votes there to even win on a split.

Vermont used to be a very Republican state back in the day.  Notice this is circa 1912

Yeah, but I don't think many of States' views are aligned with the 1912 GOP

I didn't say anything about 1912.  This is 2008.  I don't think there were any Libertarians in 1912.  If they were, they were called "Republicans."

you never said it wasn't a 1912 electoral map Grin
Besides I think you'd do a great deal better in a four way race if it were back then.  Most likely, you'd have the liberal-conservative divide making it a States-BRTD race with Dibble and you recieving 5%.
Ha see if I map you a map again Tongue

Ok, I missed the "for the hell of it" comment.  It's fun doing things for the hell of it. Smiley

I'd probably vote for States. My second choice would be Dibble and third would be Beef. Couldn't stomach voting for BRTD.

Here's my own guess, if this race were run in 2008:

Dibble: 233
Beef: 189
States: 93
BRTD: 23

BRTD wouldn't win MA or RI; he's made quite a few anti-Catholic remarks in the past...

True.  A Populist might do well in that state, for the same reason that he/she would do well in DC.

Here are the battleground states:

Between Conservative and Libertarian:

Alaska
Wyoming
Louisiana
Virginia
Georgia

Between Conservative and Populist:

Oklahoma
Arkansas
Kansas
Nebraska
North Dakota
Kentucky
North Carolina

Between Libertarian and Populist:

Ohio
Michigan
Pennsylvania

Between Libertarian and Socialist:

California
Rhode Island
New York
New Jersey

Between Populist and Socialist:

Massachusetts
DC
Maryland
Minnesota
Illinois

3-way or 4-way battlegrounds:

Missouri
Delaware
Wisconsin

Pink - Beef
Light blue - Dibble
Dark Blue - StatesRights
Dark Red - BRTD

BRTD wins.
