It's all in the messaging. Democrats just need a nominee that will connect with people and tell the truth about dear daddy Mitch.

That should be super easy especially in a federal race in Kentucky Smiley.

It's too bad Edelen lost reelection for Auditor in 2015. He'd have made a much better candidate for this race / other potentially competitive Kentucky contests than Grimes, Conway, or whoever else the KYDP will come up with.

I think Arch meant the other one.

I'm going to cross post my #analysis from the US-SEN 2020 thread.

Kentucky: Fool's gold for Democrats, but Republicans won MI, PA, and WI last year, so what the Hell. McConnell has only really won a decisive victory twice, the first in 2002, the second in 2014, the worst year for Democrats in damn near a century. Given the fact Grimes will be term limited out of the Secretary of State spot in 2019, I think it's very likely she runs for Governor and Andy Beshear runs for re-election. A second term AG Beshear can easily run from cover. I also wouldn't rule out McConnell retiring, especially if 2018 isn't a good year for the GOP

McConnell, without a doubt, is one of the worst and most corrupt people in Congress. That approval is astounding, but the Democrats have absolutely zero appeal here. They will not and cannot win in Kentucky with the way the party is.

McConnell will win if he doesn't retire.
