Shouldn't people have the right to enjoy themselves, even if they're being completely ripped off in the process? I think so. Hey, if you want to pay money for what you could theoretically get for free, it's your business!

Does the State have the authority to nose into your moral values, if those values don't contradict basic civic behavior (you know, don't steal, don't kill anybody, etc)?... I don't think so. You want to ruin your life gambling? Go ahead. Want to gamble occasionally and responsibly, taking care not to lose too much? More power to you. Don't want to gamble, period? Fine, just don't try to ban gambling. And you know what? Same with prostitution. Why should the state keep people from paying for an enjoyable time? And why should the state stop people from earning money in this fashion?

Vote YEA on the Re-Prostitution Proposition. Let people be smart or stupid with it - it's their choice.

I see your point, but I just have way to many things wrong wth prostitution, morally.  While I'm usually Libertarian on these things and don't let my moral standards go into the law, I just can't do that with this, sorry*.

*Unless, of course, I'm having a bad day and I mess up my ballot Wink

I think most libertarians see being a libertarian as all or nothing at all.  I decide on every issue according to what I think about that issue, not just a grouped up "I don't think the Government should interfere" stance on every issue, I don't mind if someone else does, I just don't.  I usually agree with the Libertarians, but not always.

I have a similar opinion - for example, I'm strongly anti-abortion. But that's because I don't see how killing a fetus is comparable to paying someone to sleep with them Tongue.

It's two consenting parties.

Besides, creation of pornography, which is the same thing except with a third party paying both parties in question, has been legal for ages.  I don't see how prostitution is any more immoral?

To Gustaf, PBRunsel, Ilikeverin, and CheeseWhiz:

If any two of you decide to spoil your ballots, I will give you 100,000 Cookie Credits piece (sorry, but I can't give money or brownie points. But I'll go and see if Nym will accept Cookie Credits... and my munificent tea scones are 10 cookie credits apiece).

I know, that's lame. But if you don't, I'll torment you guys with a Re-Re-Prostitution Proposition Tongue.

Well, my munificent Tea Scones are mine. They're being sold for 10 Cookie Credits apiece.

I think Nym's Cookies are Nym's, but I'm not sure.
