I wish someone like Barbara Lee would run, but she's too old. Karen Bass?

EDIT: Judy Chu would also make a great Senator.

I'd say endorsed, but I'm still curious to see how far Michael Eisen gets.

Endorsed so California loses seniority (I'm sure it'll eventually be gained back, though).

She will get 3.4% of the vote, if that.

It would be such a disaster for Republicans if they were shut out of the Governor and Senate race, or even any other statewide race.

Menendez & Feinstein need to go. You can't go worse than that given that the states are CA & NJ.

I hope there is 1 decent primary challenger, TYT & other small organizations don't need to get into these races & get 3-4% of the votes & help Feinstein.

I don't know. On one hand, people here are tired of Feinstein, but they recognize that she has a lot of seniority and that benefits California. If Clinton were president, I think DiFi would be safe, but with Trump I think people want change, and de Leon has a lot to offer in that regard.

Most Democrats are happy enough with their Democratic representatives. De Leon doesn't have enough name recognition or organization to go toe to toe against a state institution like Feinstein. He's probably going to lose 70-30 in the general election against her.

But this would be the second statewide DvD election, and the first one with an incumbent, so we just don't know how Republicans (the ones that bother to turn out) and independents would vote. Not to mention the Democratic coalition in California is not homogenous in the least, so the vote there will be splintered.

I would vote for de Leon if I lived in CA, I think the Democratic Party needs some younger and more progressive voices.

That being said, I wouldn't care too much if Feinstein wins reelection (and in reality she almost certainly will), she's still a reliable vote for the Democratic agenda most of the time.

The top two system means that it doesn't matter how many people jump in this race, it WILL be de Leon vs Feinstein unless someone with better fundraising and name recognition hopes in - probably from the right.

Anyway since I am from California, time for my take - I'm open to voting for de Leon. I typically am in favor of SoCal Dems, preferably Hispanics busting the Bay Area monopoly dominated the party in ideology and candidates. However, he will no doubt run to the left in an attempt to win progressive voter, and in turn lose me.

Feinstein is going to be reelected. Let's face it, she's going to sit in that seat until she drops.
