Roger Wicker currently has one opponent, Jensen Bohren. Does Chris McDaniel or Ray Mabus run? I heard McDaniel is considering running.

I doubt Ray Mabus runs. He wasn't a very popular Governor back when Democrats were much more dominant in MS

McDaniel is very dumb so he will probably run against Wicker. I think Maybus is just bluffing though and will not run.

Bluffing how? I don't think he's even said he's considering it. His name just came up in a couple random articles.

I think it's more likely he goes for Cochran's seat again in 2020 whether he retires or not (I think he will). Hopefully Mississippians will have the sense to reject him a second time.

To answer the question, neither.

From what I understand the seat is Stacy Pickering's if he wants it (VERY prominent GOP family from back when it was not a very Republican state)

McDaniel appears to be posturing for a run.

Wicker is on the record supporting a new flag, and McDaniel has been hitting him hard on it. It might be enough to actually primary him out, sadly.

I haven't heard anything about Mabus (no y), but I doubt many voters even remember him being governor.

If the Dems could get Hood to run if it looked like McDaniel would win primary then it might really be a race.

If McDaniel runs and actually wins the primary, the Democrats need to invest in burying him. Mississippi is much friendlier territory than Alabama (weird as it is to say that) and McDaniel is arguably the only candidate in the Deep South magnitudes worse than Roy Moore.

Mabus won't won. But Brandon Presley sounds like he might get in.

If Doug Jones wins in Alabama and, say, Jamie Franks or Jim Hood or Connie Moran wins in Mississippi, I think that might signal the beginning of a realignment.
