Voters of the Southeast, I would like to thank each and every one of you. Not just those of you who voted for me, but every person who cast a ballot. Thank you for helping to preserve our experiment in democracy.
I'd also like to thank Brandon H for his extreme graciousness throughout this rather low-key campaign. He is a model of civility, and it has been a pleasure exchanging ideas with him over these last weeks. He was very kind following the closing of the polls, saying:
Congratulations Q. Had I known you would cast a vote for me I would have done the same for you.
Brandon, I know that one day soon you will once again be serving our region with the honor and dignity that characterized your previous time of service.
People of our beautiful region, I thank you for putting your faith in choosing me as your first elected Lieutenant Governor.
I plan to address you all again tomorrow with an outline of my plans for the next two months.
