LIVE FEED: GABRIEL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA

[Mr. Hobbes enters to John Mayer's "Bigger Than My Body", and a cheering crowd of Hobbes partisans goes wild.  Chants of "Hobbes! Hobbes! Hobbes!" fill the convention center.]

MR. HOBBES: Thank you!  Thank you!

I know, I know, I can hardly believe it myself!

My friends, today we have declared to Atlasia, to the world, that a strong, Christian communitarian voice can be raised here in the Pacific Region!

We based our campaign on the principles of an independent lieutenant governor's office, a strong committment to destroying terrorism, and the traditional values of faith, family, and freedom that are the pillars of this Republic.

And the Pacific heard our call, and she answered with an overwhelming yes!

Now, you know, this region also passed a new Constitution tonight.  It establishes the inalienable right for all Atlasian citizens to propose legislation for referendum.

Thanks to this clause, my fellow Atlasians, tonight I am proposing the following measures...my platform...in the interest of creating a stronger, more secure Pacific that is as morally blessed as its people.

First, my proposal to fund universal health insurance for all citizens under the age of 18, paid for by a surcharge on cigarettes.

Second, a bill to ban the scourage of third trimester abortion, now and forever more!

Third, a bill to force all abortion clinics in the Pacific to administer a government-funded ultrasound to all mothers seeking an abortion, funded by a tax on pornography.  We will do this because eighty percent of mothers have been found to keep their child after viewing an ultrasound.

Fourth, a bill to provide pre-natal care to all mothers living below the poverty line.

And fifth, legislation establishing a system of profit-sharing, so that workers are paid on how hard they work, not just for punching in!

My friends, this is the vision for of a strong Christian communitarian...and I pray Heaven to bestow knowledge and wisdom upon our people and our government as we decide whether or not to take this road further!

God bless you, and God bless Atlasia!

Great win, Hobbes! I love seeing an underdog conservative candidate win. Best of luck while in office.

I think he made it pretty clear what he stood for.

Congratulations, Hobbes!

First and Fourth sound very good. Nor do I have any problems with Third. But where's the anti-death penalty rhetoric gone? Angry

Hobbes worked this entire speech into his campaign if you had actually paid attention. Tongue
