The seat will probably go to Blackburn. I sense a certain kind of unbridled ambition in that woman.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Just saying, an open TN race may be more competitive than a Cruz-held TX race.

Maybe, but who can Democrats run? And I'd wager the open governor's seat is more appealing to strong candidates because it's more winnable than an open Senate seat.

Are any Rand Paul/ Mike Lee style Conservatives running? Who will be the establishment voice?

Potentially Andy Berke, Mayor of Chattanooga.

Every Tennessee Republican is either a moderate, friendly, main street GOP type or the walking reincarnation of Nathan Bedford Forrest. So it'll be a fun primary to watch.

You're an optimist! I was picturing Senator DesJairlais or Senator Campfield.

He would. He'd also be unlikely to run.

DesJarlais would make the race a toss up in the general.

He's out? This is a Pyrite D race now.

The joke was that Pyrite is famous for being fool's gold. Dems will want this seat, they will put in effort to get it, but they won't win it.

Most likely path right now appears to be Blackburn going for Corker's seat, and Mark Green going for Blackburn's seat.
