I just looked Bredesen up. He’s 73 years old. Are there no young people in the Tennessee Democratic Party?

Apparently not.

From what it was not too long ago, the Tennessee Democratic Party is probably one of the most decimated parties in the country. It's not surprising. Democrats controlled both Houses of the state Legislature until 2009. Now, they're down to 25% of the House and 15% of the Senate.

If it gives us even a chance, I hope Bredesen does run. He's probably the only reason the race isn't rated Solid R.

I think Bredesen would be the strongest Democratic candidate, and, in a Trump mid-term in an open seat, he might have a chance.

Also draft Ray Mabus/Ronnie Musgrove (MS), Dave Freudenthal (WY), Jim Matheson (UT), and Ben Nelson (NE).

It's not 2008 anymore.

Bredsen has been out of the limelight for 7 years, and hasn't been on the ballot in 11. Not to mention TN has undergone a political sea change since then.

Democrats really need to get over popular red state governors from the 2000s as some cure all as the fact these states have gone hard right since then.

He'd probably lose badly, but a 2% chance of winning is better than the 0.1% TN Dems would have otherwise.

Although TN doesn't really seem like the right kind of state to take advantage of a Trump backlash in. At least in somewhere like TX it's possible to imagine Dems winning solely through high base turnout with low Republican turnout. In TN, you'd have to win over some Trump supporters to get to 50%.

I am just not seeing this.  Even if Nashville and Memphis do what NOVA and Hampton Roads did in VA-GOV and Williamson goes the way of Chesterfield, 2/3rds of the state is still basically VA-09 and filled with diehard rural Trump supporters.  This is a harder lift than Mississippi or Louisiana IMO.

Which is a big if. Wasn't it one of the largest counties in the country where not a single precinct voted for Clinton?

Democrats are so stupid. They love everyone who says something even remotely anti-Trump, even when they vote with Trump over 90% of the time lol. I guess Republicans are the same way because all Corker has done is criticized Trump a few times.

These two items taken together imply that Alexander's approval has also fallen significantly.

Yup Democrats can be just as retarded as Repiblicans, as evidenced by these doofuses praising Corker even though he does nothing except b!tch on Twitter.
I think Democrats just tired of the GOP acting like sycophants most of the time that anything remotely critical of Trump from a Republican garner praise. It not like anyone expect Corker to go full Lieberman.

lol, if even Corker is that much more popular among Democrats, I can't even imagine the split on Collins.

We're retarded in a different way though. Our mental deficiencies manifest in a more positive manner in wanting to acknowledge the better half of others. Republican retardation has manifested in supporting narcissistic demagogues, white ethnonationalists, and pedophiles.

It's obviously not surprising given the fact that more Democrats than Republicans approve of Corker, but it's still hilarious (and unprecedented for a Republican) that his numbers are worst in East Tennessee (33/54).

Corker’s approval ratting will head significantly down among Republicans after his vote on the tax bill.  He is lucky he decided to retire!

isn't it ridiculous? I feel very embarrassed for our country that this happens any time a Republican says "Trump's tie is crooked!".
