Howdy neighbors.  I'll keep this fairly short.

The amendment to the Mideast constitution that removed that stupid rule about fantasy residence and avatars has narrowly failed, as a two-thirds majority was required.  Because of this, I had to disqualify the votes of Al and Peter Bell, who unfortunately didn't meet the old requirement.  I'm more than a little disappointed by this.  However, I'll be reintroducing the same amendment as a new proposition next month, and hopefully it'll pass next time.

The referendum on changing the name of the Mideast region has also failed by a substantial margin.  The people have spoken, and I respect that.  This will be the last you'll hear from me on the subject of changing the region's name.

Also, congratulations to Ben, who is now the official Superior Court Judge following a unanimous vote of support.  I have no doubts whatsoever that he will serve this position with distinction.  Good luck to you, Ben.

Finally, I have reached a decision that I have been thinking about for a few weeks now.  I have decided not to run for a second term as governor in September.  I've been proud to serve this region since April, but I think my time has come to move on and let somebody else take over.  I will of course continue in my current capacity until that time.

Thank you.

Bump.  Anybody like to make a comment of any kind?  Any kind of sign that I didn't waste my time posting this thread?

Any kind of response from somebody who actually read and understood it?

Hmm, do you have any intention of running for the Senate or the Presidency at that time?

Well it's good that you're putting it back on the ballot (it needs to pass).

And it's too bad to see you go, I expected at least another term before you went on to other things. (That doesn't include running for other positions) Smiley

Not at this time, but then this time two weeks ago I fully intended to run for a second term.  So things may change.  In any case, MasterJedi is doing a good job in my opinion, so I don't think a Senate campaign against him is necessary at all.

It certainly does, and I'm a little frustrated that it didn't.

Thanks Smiley

Yeah, I was just kidding, though your "YAY!" could have meant anything. Tongue

Thanks Joe, I appreciate it. Smiley
