Basically two democrats who were considered DINO's in either economic policy or foreign policy .

I would clearly prefer the economic DINO ,Ben Nelson.

Joe Lieberman, easily. Lieberman was always consistent in his Scoop Jackson-style foreign policy.

Ben Nelson is a sell out and an HP.

Joe Lieberman is an economic DINO too. (As much as I dislike the term DINO)

Lieberman pre-George W. Bush was in all fairness, not that terrible of a Senator. He was actually a pretty standard Democrat for the most part, albeit a rather nanny statist one, due to the violent video game crusade everyone remembers him for. But all that really accomplished was inspiring the rating system which was inevitable anyway, at which point he moved on. And actually, he even voted against the Communications Decency Act and the Flag Burning Amendment. Him being Al Gore's running mate was no accident. Ideologically, he was probably pretty similar to Chuck Schumer.

But Lieberman from 2001 and beyond is such a vile creature I voted Nelson.

Lieberman prevented a public option and potentially made healthcare that much more problematic, so Nelson.

He also was against a Medicare buy-in at 55.

Ben Nelson, and it's not at all close either.

Though you're comparing a senator from a deep red state and a senator from a deep blue state, so it's honestly not a fair match-up.
