Doug Ford got my vote. Rae days, affirmative action, and Sunday shopping. The ghost of the NDP still haunts this great province.... The man has his faults, but he got the interest of working Ontarians in mind.

Sunday shopping?

Your kidding right? he's a wealthy man, born into wealthy and only uses the working man to get elected. Trust, I lived through the Ford lost years. Over 1500 people lost their jobs, the eliminated transit routes to the very areas that were mostly working poor, closed libraries/communities centres, created new taxes and cut revenues at the same time, privatized services... the waste or fat? was not found, at all.
his interests, lay solely with helping the rich get richer (look at his tax plans) and eliminating the idea that the government can do good.

Rae days, you know that saved over 20 THOUSAND jobs right? Affirmative action, ya ending systemic racism, that's a bad thing.

... I think i got triggered? Tongue
back to polling!!

If there's a polling error in which direction do you think it'll be?

That centre line reminds me of Political Compass

Well, it was from Vote Compass.

Definitely a lot of issues with this ranking, I think.  I really don't think Carleton - a riding that nearly went Liberal in 2015 - is the most right wing in Ontario.

Maybe not the most, but asides from 2015 federally that area has tended to vote heavily conservative, probably in the top 10 most right wing.

Looking at Canada 2011, and Alberta 2015, I would guess the Liberals would increase and the NDP would decrease.

Probably the PCs at 40% seeing a few polls are showing pc momentum. Though I actually think theirs a decent chance the NDP vote will be more efficient then polling models are showing. I think the Liberals will likely beat their polling average by a couple points because their the incumbent party.

The Globe and Mail's non-endorsement:

Can't say I blame them. The message to vote local in effect mostly means an endorsement of select PC and Liberal candidates (other than MPPs, whom do the voters know locally?).

I guess if I had the editorial positions of the Globe, I would endorse PC provincewide and NDP or Liberal in Etobicoke North, and hope for a PC government without Ford. But that is highly unrealistic, although getting rid of Ford will be considerably easier for PC than getting rid of trump is for the GOP.

Keep drinking the leftist Kool aid. I know Ford isn't great, but he certainly beats socialism.

Not surprised. Globe and Mail usually endorses fiscally conservative parties so ruling the Liberals and NDP out. But it has been a strong critic of the Ford Brothers ruling out the PC's. As a progressive conservative myself I sort of feel this way too. I suspect had Elliott been leader of PC's they would have endorsed her and likewise would have endorsed Liberals if Wynne resigned a year ago and they choose a Blue Liberal like Sandra Paputello.

More circus - apparently the Ford family business somehow reverted to Doug Ford's sole ownership. And, Ford's wife Karla is drawing a salary in the company.

While at the same time Rob Ford's wife is selling the family home (presumably to raise cassh).

Not sure how credible this info is, but it's from an email to campaign volunteers, sent tonight by the Liberal campaign of Yasir Naqvi, in Ottawa Centre:

"..The polls show that we're 4% behind..."

If true, it confirms the tightness of the race, and the NDP lead.

Not the polling I've seen specifically of Ottawa Centre.  I'm curious what he means by "the polls."

Naqvi is known to be a nice guy and liked by his constituents - but so was Paul Dewar.

No clue. I am assuming that it refers to some internal riding polling, but they may have just referenced #s from one of the riding projection sites.

Probably. Mainstreet has Naqvi almost in third place.

Hmm. Maybe I should get my credit card and donate to Joel Harden.

Nothing personal against Naqvi, but I was so distraught when Paul Dewar lost, that well... you know, schadenfreude. I would be ecstatic if he lost.

EPP, using their "gut feeling" methodology has called all but two seats: Sault Ste Marie and Ottawa South.

Here's their Liberal holds (9 seats):

Ottawa-Vanier
Ottawa Centre
Don Valley East
Don Valley West
Eglinton-Lawrence
Scarborough-Guildwood
St. Paul's
Toronto Centre
Vaughan-Woodbridge

A partisan website to be sure, but still...

https://pressprogress.ca/one-quarter-of-ontario-pc-candidates-currently-face-lawsuits-probes-and-police-investigations/

A new analysis by PressProgress suggests up to 34 Ontario PC candidates, or 27.6% of Doug Ford’s entire slate of 123 candidates, are currently facing a variety of lawsuits, probes and police investigations.
