So in accordance with the recently passed Budget Process & Control Act, The House and Senate need to elect one member each to the Budget Process Committee.


We have two weeks per the legislation, but I would rather not take that long to get it up and running. So I will give 48 hours for declarations/nominations and then have a 72 hour vote.

As someone who served on the 2010 Budget Process Renewal Committee, and author of the Budget Process & Control Act, I would like to declare to be the People's House's representative on the committee.

I have likewise urged Senator Scott to run for the position in the Senate. I think between the two of us, we have the ability to track down all the bills raising revenue and spending money since the reset.

As I would envision it, this Committee will present a template of the situation "as it is", as our actions plus RL have left it. It will then be up to the Congress and President to propose solutions to any deficit/surplus situation. But the committee's job is to formalize what is and present that to Congress and therefore once passed will form an organized budget and satisfy the GM deadline of Oct 31st to avoid a downgrade.
