Yet another dispatch from last weekend's Polk County Steak Fry, with yet more presidential non-denials....

And who needs Libya, when he voted for the war in Iraq.
Nobody is going to care about that in 2020.

Iraq is Vietnam re-incarnated. As long as Biden will be alive, his vote will haunt if he decides to run for Presidency. Anyone who voted for the war in Iraq will have a big disadvantage 2020, Hillary got hammered for that.

Besides as long the Middle East is a problem with terrorists groups n ISIS, Iraq War will be there. The war also killed many Americans & created trillions of $ of Debt. How do you recover from that kind of a blunder?
She did in 2008. I don't remember that coming up in 2016 but time will tell. I am starting to think Biden might not be built for the spotlight of being a frontrunner candidate.

In addition, Trump has himself supported the invasion of Iraq during an interview in 2002 so I don't think Biden's record on the Iraq War will be a counterbalance favoring Trump.

Howard Schultz says "I have no plans to run for office", which isn't really a Shermanesque denial:

Murphy says “I’ll rule it out for you” when asked about running for prez in 2020.  Though when asked for the third time he just says “I’m running for reelection” so read into that what you will:

Meanwhile, Garcetti reiterates that he’s not going to make any kind of pledge to serve his full term as mayor, but rather than talking about a presidential run, he notes that running for governor is a possibility:

Politico has a lengthy story on Bullock, and here's the part where he's asked about 2020.  (He says "It's pretty dang early", rather than try to offer any kind of denial.)

I like Murphy he is a pretty savvy pol, but his gun control politics is just not going to play well in the Heartland. And I think he understands that.

Same. But to play devil's advocate, it may play well in the increasingly blue suburbs. In my experience, even R voters in the suburbs aren't single issue voters on gun control.

I would note that even in quoted text above, when Murphy is asked one final time about 2020, he switches from "I'll rule it out for you" to an "I'm running for reelection" statement, which sounds more like a dodge.  In this latest interview, he's back to a full on dodge:

Ann Coulter, while speaking at an event in Florida, predicts that the Democratic nominee will be Kamala Harris.

For once Ann Coulter may actually know what she's talking about...she only really has to beat Warren, Klobuchar, Gillibrand and one Cuomo/Booker/Brown to be the nominee (even if Sanders runs, it's unlikely America will nominate an open socialist this time either...he'd still lose to Trump, and he'd definitely lose to Pence, who I have a sinking feeling will be the nominee).

Here’s this week’s #2020Vision column:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/13/politics/2020-vision-elizabeth-warren-fundraising-california-senate-cory-booker-kirsten-gillibrand/index.html

As usual, most of the content there has already been covered in this thread.  Though they do link to the Gillibrand story in Vogue, which I just posted a thread on.  Here’s the tea leaves portion of that story:

The controversy over Bernie Sanders’s speech at the Women’s Convention, explained

The organizers of the Women’s Convention — an outgrowth of the Women’s March that drew millions of participants around the globe in January — sparked controversy on Thursday when they announced that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would be the conference’s opening-night speaker. “This event is literally called the ‘Women’s Convention,’” Lily Herman wrote at Refinery29, “so it’d be nice to see, you know, women in the spotlight.” MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid and many others expressed similar sentiments, as Vox’s Jeff Stein noted.

The organizers of the convention countered that their program currently includes 60 women and only two men, and that they had invited a number of women — including Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) — who were unable to attend. And while Sanders is slated to speak on opening night, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) will give the keynote address.

I think we will have 4 or 5 serious candidate and that will narrow down to 2 by March. A lot of these names thrown around like Moulton, Ryan, Garcetti will prob drop out before Iowa.

I know it's trolling...but the constitution only says he can't be sworn in, not that he can't run...great way to mess with Trump.
