I wish people would stop asking Biden about 2020. He shouldn't be encouraged to run.

Don't hold your breath. Biden is a media darling. They were practically on their hands and knees constantly begging him to run against their nemesis Hillary in mid-late 2015, lol.

I hope President Klobuchar doesn't pick Sanders as her Vice President.  She has better options.

As I see it, Trump will not run for re-election. Vice President Pence, Still very popular among republicans and some moderates, will seek re-election. We will be running against either Sherrod Brown or Kirsten Gillibrand. As I see it today, it will be a very close race.

In what world will Trump not run for re-election if given the option?

if he thinks he'll lose. if he's not up to it, meaning health/age issues. it's not a far-fetched idea, but I understand your doubt.

Gillibrand is running. No question.

Any movement on Joe Kennedy III or Caroline Kennedy?

Haven't heard much about them lately, but they're still viable options.

I would say after these last few weeks though, we're all spectators in Bernie/Warren/Gillibrand's race.

I think the Kennedy name is very strong even amongst Trump's base. The key catalyst in my mind is Chris Kennedy's campaign for IL Gov. If he wins, I think we will see either Caroline or Joe jump in. I think Caroline has a better chance of winning and coming out as the top of the ticket.

Chris winning in IL will put the family in position to lock-down the support of the Chicago donor base, and potentially far more important, the Obama base/endorsement.

Any movement on Joe Kennedy III or Caroline Kennedy?

Joe Kennedy was in NH in October:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=273224.msg5876290#msg5876290

He was asked about a presidential run in July and disavowed interest:

OTOH, I'm not sure why Caroline Kennedy would even be brought up.  The New York Post had a story last year about her possibly being interested in running for Congress.  How do you go from there to her wanting to run for president in 2020?

With Chris Kennedy winning the governors mansion in IL. a lot more focus will be on the Kennedy clan. She'll be able to raise the money to mount a campaign and given she isn't "on the record" on most hot topic issues of the day, she'll be able to curate a moderate approach that could position her very well.

OK, except I'm not aware of any information indicating that she actually wants to run for president in 2020.  The purpose of this thread is to talk about clues being dropped by the candidates that indicate that they want to run (or conversely, clues indicating that they won't run).

Biden, on The View, talks about running for president in 2020 at about the 2 minute mark in this video:

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo introduces a bill to ban ownership of a firearm by those who have been convicted of domestic violence/assault - more than likely a wholesome piece of legislation but obvious pry at building a 2020 resume - not to mention the questionable Constitutionality of it.

This seems like something that almost everyone would support, save for the most hardcore gun nuts.

This is from about a week ago, but I guess Inslee was asked about his 2020 plans:

Well, at the very least, in the wake of the acquisition, maybe Bob Iger won't run for president now, because his current position might allot him more power and wealth.

EDIT: I'm hearing rumors that he's planning on staying in his role way through 2021, anyway.

Klobuchar has been in the news quite a bit

She phoned in to Hardball with Chris Matthews to talk about Doug Jones: http://www.msnbc.com/hardball/watch/sen-amy-klobuchar-the-people-of-alabama-have-spoken-1115350083754

She was on CNN last Friday to talk about Franken: http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/08/politics/amy-klobuchar-senate-al-franken-minnesota/index.html

She's also been in the news about Tina Smith, Franken's replacement, and for a new caregiver law: https://youtu.be/lnNy_MHV8rs

I hope using O'Malley as a verb becomes a trend.
