The Jason Zengerle at the NYT has a new rundown of the 2020 Dem. field:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/09/30/opinion/who-can-beat-trump-in-2020.html

O'Malley has got to be upset that he didn't even get a mention.  How many more Iowa and New Hampshire visits does he have to do before the MSM notices his existence?  Tongue

Most surreal sentence from the piece is the one in which Zengerle calls Amy Klobuchar "a sort of thinking man’s Sarah Palin".

Was it because Klobuchar said she could see Canada from her porch? Smiley

She's repeatedly said the same about Iowa:

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/sep/07/nation/la-na-early-states-courtship-20120907

Not sure how it's possible to see both Iowa and Canada at the same time.  Her glasses must give her incredible vision.  Tongue

Cuban was on the podcast of Democratic South Carolina state representative Bakari Sellers:

Mark Cuban was on Harvey Levin's Fox show tonight and said he would rather run as a Republican if he was forced to choose between the two parties.

Yeah, here is more info:

Just a few weeks ago, Mark Cuban was giving himself a 10% chance of running for prez in 2020.  Now he says it's 40%:

He probably wouldn't run as a Democrat, but this shows he could get a lot of support running third party in Texas.

Not necessarily. The poll was essentially set up as "Trump v. The Democrat which happens to be Mark Cuban." I assume that most of the people who answered Cuban in this poll would vote for the Democrat in any scenario just to counter Trump. The only way to have a better idea of how he'd do in a three-way race is to poll exactly that.

Probably. I guess I was just thinking that being able to beat Trump by 3 points as a Democrat means he would have a large following, but you are right that a poll showing a three-way race is better.

Dem billionaire megadonor @TomSteyer is making an announcement about his "his political future and plans for 2018" in DC on Monday. One doesn't tend to announce runs for Californian statewide office in DC...

A Winfrey vs. Trump election might well be the very beginning of the end of democracy in America.

Trump's nomination and election already did that.

Definitely non-biased source ResistCovefe with an article about a possible future in politics for Ivanka Trump.

If Ivanka really primaries her own father, I'll have seen everything in my political life.

For the second year in a row, Bernie Sanders will give his own response to the State of the Union, separate from the official Democratic response:

Tim Ryan's recent early primary state visits may or may not mean he's going to run for president.  But he is throwing cold water on the idea that he'll run for a leadership position in the House again any time soon:

While I doubt he'll take the plunge, David Jolly wrote on Twitter that Pennsylvania shows he that he shouldn't run for office again this year and that he wants to be "a part of that primary" that he wants against Trump in 2020.

His wife replied “Just Watch!” in the comments though, and they wished her best of luck. Jolly 2020 wouldn’t be as crazy as it sounds.

Honestly, he's got nothing to lose at this point

I think he'd make himself to be a good alternative

Tim Ryan is telling people he's running, and believes yogi will be his base along with blue-collar Midwesterners. Also told Third Way “You’re not going to make me hate somebody just because they’re rich. I want to be rich!”

The one probable 2020 Democratic candidate I could see myself voting for.

This is more likely for 2024 than 2020, but I'll post it here anyway:

Interesting. Scott, who's not really moderate but also doesn't seem like a flaming conservative, will likely find it hard to win a primary in the post-Trump Republican Party. He also has the problem of Nikki Haley's likely run, which might rob him of a SC victory if they both run.

Haley would likely beat him, but I could still see him becoming the de facto Tea Party-esque (or at least "real conservative") candidate if he gets far enough.
