More on de Blasio: He insists he's not running for prez, despite his Iowa trip:

But it sounds like he's about to set up a PAC:

I hope he's not fibbing when he says this, because he'd be a terrible candidate.

Democratic nominee Meg Whitman is one of the most disturbing things I can think of. God help us.

Kander is too inexperienced. If he had won his senate race, he'd be a formidable candidate, but that didn't happen.

Just a few weeks ago, Mark Cuban was giving himself a 10% chance of running for prez in 2020.  Now he says it's 40%:

I'd love to see him challenge Trump in the Republican primary.

Him running for President is a non-starter.

With that said, him running for Governor of Florida would be absolutely killer.
I don't know, I think if he actually ran, he could do quite well. he's very, very likable and quite charismatic, as well as likely having moderate positions on most issues.

Inslee taking over as chair of the DGA, leading some to speculate on whether he might use his perch to push Inslee for president 2020:

http://www.king5.com/article/news/politics/inslee-raising-national-profile-with-new-role/281-497143397

Why did you mention his name and then refer to him in the third person

Probably satirical, but Bill Kristol seems to believe Nikki Haley could primary Trump in 2020: https://twitter.com/BillKristol/status/939980859633012737
Even if he's serious, his word is worth about as much as Trump's... So very little.

I don't believe Biden is actually running. 2016 was his last chance.
Same. he's just too old.

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo introduces a bill to ban ownership of a firearm by those who have been convicted of domestic violence/assault - more than likely a wholesome piece of legislation but obvious pry at building a 2020 resume - not to mention the questionable Constitutionality of it.
This seems like something that almost everyone would support, save for the most hardcore gun nuts.

Vanity Fair has a lengthy profile of Steve Bannon, including the news that he might run for president in 2020 if Trump drops out of the race:

Eh, he has nothing to lose, so I don't see why he wouldn't either challenge Trump in the primary or run as an indy in the general.

you think we'll see more than one challenger to Trump in the primary? Meaning potentially Kasich, Flake, Corker, and whoever else might want to.
Potentially, but if that's the case, they're all going to get 4-5% each and just split the anti-Trump vote, easily allowing him to win.

Former DNC chair candidate, and South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg announced he was engaged today, further becoming one of the biggest names in the LGBT community as 2020 approaches.

Indiana, LGBT, appeals to the white working class - could be a great candidate for the Democrats.
In what world is he one of the biggest names in the LGBT community?

Politico has this recap of the “no-name” candidates laying the groundwork for 2020, including another name to add to the mix in the form of Eric Swalwell:

Also, various 2020ers sent out holiday cards to early-primary state Dems:

I don't see what makes him an especially interesting or appealing candidate.

I hope Bullock runs, he's one of my favorite potential 2020 Democratic candidates, and he's more progressive than some people here seem to think.

Roger Stone claims his sources indicate that Romney is going to use the Senate as a launchpad for a 2020 presidential campaign:

As the US Conference of Mayors opens its conference, NBC talks about the mayors who might run for president:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/city-field-democratic-mayors-emerge-hot-prospects-2020-n839481

They do manage to get a response from Mitch Landrieu's office, but it's a non-answer:

I think that's right, I don't see why he'd run for President when he has no path in the primary unless it's an extremely weak field.

Definitely non-biased source ResistCovefe with an article about a possible future in politics for Ivanka Trump.

http://resistcovfefe.net/ivanka-trump-considering-bid-presidency/

If Ivanka really primaries her own father, I'll have seen everything in my political life.
Honestly, Ivanka would easily be a better President than Trump. irregardless of the fact that this site is sketchy as hell.

Newsom reiterates that he's not running for prez (and even looks directly at the camera to say no):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mvEzs3NNfY

For that matter, he says that Jerry Brown had problems in his initial terms as governor because he had an eye on running for president.  Not exactly the words of a guy who's planning to make a presidential run right after being elected governor.

You can rarely trust a prominent politician who says they're not running for President, but this is a more firm denial than most would give. probably fair to count him out.

I could see him trying to primary Trump and then running as an Independent in the general election after he inevitably loses the primary. I don't think he'd do very well though, in the primary or in the general.

Julian Castro really wants you to know that he's interested in the presidency with his "I have every interest in running" comment:

I don't think Castro would be a bad candidate, however I think the Democratic nominee needs more experience... but of course, he has a lot more experience than Trump.
