I based this bill on similar legislation which is on the books irl in Florida and Louisiana. It basically immunizes persons who are forced to leave their homes because of a hurricane, if they happen to pack their gun. I included a statement clarifying that the immunity does not extend to crimes related to gun use, only to crimes related to gun carry, and only during the immediate evacuation. Forcing gun owners to leave their guns behind to be destroyed by rust or stolen by looters is unfair, when they can be safely and easily evacuated too. This bill would have no budgetary impact.

This bill looks great to me.  A good way to protect gunowners' rights in disasters.  This has my support.
