We'll be back with more resignations after this message.

At this point, I'm getting resigned to it.

The Trump administration has more resignations, forced retirements, and removals of a suspect nature than a season of Game of Thrones.

National GOP groups spent $18.8 million to defend Price's seat in the special election.  He was in office for 231 days.  This works out to $81,490 per day.  Source

Since Congress isn't going to be able to repeal the ACA, Mitt Romney would be a good choice to fill the position.

Note - I'm not predicting this, but appointing someone who believes in health care reform makes a lot more sense than appointing someone who doesn't.

I agree, but would Mitt really want to be a part of this administration?

Mitt met with Trump about being SOS after the election. He's at least open to the idea.

SoS is infinitely more prestigious than SoHHS. And after the last 7 months, I doubt Romney would board this sinking ship. Especially not when he's got a shot at becoming a Senate lifer.

All I'm saying is that Romney isn't categorically opposed to being part of Trump's administration. I think you're right that at this point Romney wouldn't touch this administration with a 10 foot pole. If somehow Trump was able too start turning it around (lulz) I could see Romney being interested in filling a vacancy.

This of course is assuming that he doesn't run for the Senate.

If they want an actually good nominee, Tevi Troy would be nice, as would Mae Jemison, Elias Zerhouni, Gary Gibbons, Nan Hayworth, Sandy Praeger, or even Gaddi Vasquez.

Here's hoping that Trump appoints someone from another red-but-possibly-competitive district, so that we'll have another special election to obsess over
