My mind keeps wandering back to Senator CCM and I cannot help but think that she is probably the strongest choice for a veep candidate.

She's young, mixed latino, from a swing state, has a clean record, and has moderate views.

She'd be perfect for any male nominee (especially Cuomo or Franken)

I like her as a VP for Joe Biden, Sherrod Brown, or Al Franken.

I wonder how a Kirsten Gillibrand/Catherine Cortez Masto ticket would fare in a 2020 general election against Mike Pence (assuming Trump is impeached by then).

Cortez-Masto inherited the Reid-machine; she needs to stay in Nevada until it's more solidly Democratic before considering leaving the Senate; she'll likely pursue a leadership role in the Senate as time progresses.

If she pursues leadership in the Senate I can see her or Van Hollan succeeding Schumer, especially as many others in their senate “generation” seem to be more focused on presidential politics.

She has many of Kamala Harris's strengths, except she comes from a swing state, would represent a milestone we haven't seen (first hispanic candidate for national office), lacks the California baggage and has been married for a while.

A slight negative is that it doesn't seem she has had children, and I can't think of the last time that was the case with any major candidate for national office.

Franken/Masto would be a killer ticket.

As long as NV has a D governor. Let's not get in the business of throwing away Senate seats.
