Neither of these guys should be elected dog catcher. None. I do not prefer one over the other. Any vote Roy Moore would take Strange would take too. The difference between the two is whether they are a total moron with backwards morals or a callous, endlessly corrupt, calculating politician with no morals.

Honestly, I'm torn. Moore deserves it more (wow, that sounds weird) after tonight's debate and him being the nominee puts the chance of a Doug Jones victory at 20%ish, while with Strange Jones has a <1% chance of victory. But of course, 20% chance of Moore vs. Jones going for Jones still leaves an 80% chance that Moore wins, which would be a very bad outcome for America. There's a very reasonable argument that we should just play it safe and make Strange the nominee, rather than enter the high-risk high-reward situation of Moore vs. Jones.

Since the poll is 7-6 Strange as of me typing this, I voted Moore to even it out.

I love the name Luther Strange, so I would choose him.

And yeah, he's slightly less terrible.

Strange, to avoid there being a chance that someone as utterly loony as Roy Moore becomes a Senator.

I'm rooting for Moore. Yes, he's a crazy person and morally despicable but I don't think those features will generate any worse policy than Strange. And in the world of Trump, US politics and identity is already so debased Moore wouldn't make it worse. Sure, he called Asians yellows but the president is promoting the KKK so it's kinda whatever.

I do think that Moore would add more embarrassment to the national GOP, which is good. And I think he'd be a more maverick-y problem creator without discipline or smarts which would make it harder for GOP Senate leadership to get things done and that is also a positive. I'm not entirely sold on which one is the weaker GE candidate and I'm inclined to think both are so likely to win it's not a big factor either way.

I try to support the candidate which destabilizes the political structure at the time, because it results in a loss of influence for the existing power sources (plutocrats and war profiteers). Short of a genuine faction of policies I could support overall, destabilizing the existing interventionist structure does a good job at that.

So the choice is between Strange, a swamp creature with little spine but the continued notion he should be in some federal office, and Roy Moore - the most destabilizing candidate since David Duke locked down the governor's runoff in 1992 (?).

So yeah, definitely Moore. How does Strange make anything better, while Moore provides another source of breakdown for the party?

Moore; I imagine he's a marginally better candidate to run against, and it would be fun to see Mitch face two failures next week (and equally strain his relationship with Trump even more so)

Besides Moore seems more likely to pull a Rand Paul and vote against something like Obamacare; if Strange is elected he'll be another vote for the leadership

We all better start getting used to seeing his face in the news more often....  Tongue

(and I refuse to vote in this poll)

I wish Young Boozer would have run just for his awesome name.

But I vote none of the above because they're both deplorable, but gun to my head: Mr. Strange. The last thing the Republican Party needs now is another hypocritical family values Christian theocrat.

They're both trash and will vote the same way 99.999999% of the time.

Roy Moore because he is a raging lunatic and will nationalize the anti-intellectualism of the Republican Party.
