Which would you rather live in: a high-tech country with good infrastructure/public transit/railways but an authoritarian government like China or a more agrarian and rural-based democracy like Ireland?

I'd prefer an agrarian dictatorship, like South Dakota under Emperor Skeletor.

Who'd want to actively live in a very authoritarian country? Agrarian democracy for the win.
