I hereby assume sponsorship of this amendment because our citizens should have the right to have their voices heard on this issue that literally affects life and death for our young men and women, and I believe that in order to protect the vital civil liberties of our people, we must pass this amendment in the House so that it can finally be put up for a citizen's referendum to our constitution. I believe that it is even more important to protect personal freedoms, liberties, and rights during a time of war, and we need to pass protections to secure them.

HR not HB

All amendments take the form of a "Joint Resolution" upon passage of both Houses and become effective (part of the constitution) when ratified by the regions.

This is a House Resolution not a bill.

So long as we're being grammar Nazis, the comma dividing the clause "nor in any place under its jurisdiction" from the clause "nor may any draft or other form of compulsory service..." ought to be a semicolon. I'll introduce an amendment once the bill/resolution/whatever actually has a sponsor.

I absolutely support this. We should not have a draft unless the people truly call for one.

I am in support of this bill. No need for the draft unless the citizens of Atlasia demand one.

I also support this version, it is similar to the one we had pre-reset. Which only resulted from a similar heated discussion over a previously far more restrictive text.

I would not that just like the war, nobody here probably likes the Draft. I am militantly opposed to the use of the draft, but I am realist (and realism crushes idealism and kicks it in the nuts), I am also a student of history and therefore that together with realism dictates we not tie our hands down the road when the course of history make take a disastrous turn.

Speaking, not as a member of Congress merely, but as the descendant of Quakers and a real-life conscientious objector, I will support this amendment.

We see no need for the draft (for now), so this is a good bill.

In light of exigent circumstances, I am opening a final vote on this bill. Representatives have 72 hours to vote aye, nay, or abstain.
