This question was spawned by some discussion on the 2020 board about female candidates being treated unfairly:

Is it morally problematic to vote for a man over a woman in the primary solely because you think the country's sexism makes her less electable in the general election?

That is, should you be willing to concede that the country's bigotries might make the general election dicier for the candidate who you would otherwise prefer, and take account of that with your primary vote?  Or is that just "surrendering to intolerance" in a way that you can't accept?
