That's Collins and Murkowski for repealing Hillsdale provision.

Seriously though the filibuster should be abolished as there will be so much good stuff that Democrats can accomplish without it and Republicans know Democrats will benefit the most from its abolition.

It would almost certainly be undone a few years later though.

I doubt it

It is hard to repeal social programs/benefits once the public gets their hands on them.

Part of why ObamaCare repeal failed is that ObamaCare basically is the conservative program. Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman are basically moderate republicans, and kept many liberal amendments out, most notably the public option. Single-Payer, or any non-trade part of the Sanders agenda, is not the conservative program and they would repeal it in about 5 seconds without the filibuster.

I used to agree, but the Obamacare repeal only failed by one vote.  Republicans won't always be as incompetent as they are now (I assume).

Which for me is actually sort of the problem, because I primarily want Democrats moving on social issues. I care about deficit.

There is no political benefits from caring about the deficit.

If I was R-CA, I'd be supporting this tax bill.

For crying out loud, you guys would probably label Kamala Harris R-CA.

Part of the reason it failed was because of the Medicaid expansion being popular.
