The Republican electorate is the most low information & dumb voter-base that there is. They will only come around when their wallets are badly hit.

Interesting that you're not a Republican, then.

Mr. Sanders proposes an amendment, #1119 (To reverse Medicaid cuts and reduce certain tax cuts). The amendment FAILS by a vote of 47-51.

Party line vote or did 1 Republican vote with the Democrats (Collins?)?

Would be a party line vote with a few not voting.

If everyone ridicules you for what you say, perhaps you should consider that what you are saying is ridiculous.

RIP Graduate Students, Research Programs, and Higher Education/Professionalization institutions in this country if this passes.

Music to the GOP's ears.

More education can lead conservatives who turned to trolling to cope with being ridiculed in college for their views to become radicalized and engage in a life of thought crime.

Exactly. We educate ourselves to become more deplorable. We're not even ashamed to be stupid.

Trolling liberals is all that matters.

I was half-joking. It's pretty obvious RINO Tom is in the most liberal 1% of "Republicans" and isn't at all representative of the party
But he's a fifth-generation Republican!!! Who are those Dixiecrats to tell him what party he belongs in?!

Can we please go back to the topic of this thread, ie the Congressional GOP f**king over the middle class to give rich kids a Christmas gift?

I love Christmas! Smiley

Also, registering with a party and having your own, independent views doesn't necessarily mean that you think everyone in the party is exactly like you ... neither does pointing out that not all Republicans fit YOUR stereotypes, either.

Not all... just 90%.

Is Paul even able to vote in Washington? Would he fly in if he were required and wanted to vote yes?
I believe he's back on the Hill now.

I'm sure everyone's favorite RINO is jizzing up a storm right now. After all, tax cuts for the wealthy is basically the only reason s/he's a Republican.

It's better than being a Republican because you just hate the blacks Smiley

In fact, they're probably licking their lips at the prospect. Conservatism is a form of sociopathy.

DYNAMIC SCORE RELEASED: Even assuming large amounts of economic growth, bill still raises deficit by $1,006,700,000,000.  https://www.jct.gov/publications.html?func=download&id=5045&chk=5045&no_html=1

That can easily be made up in cuts in wasteful defense spending.

Yeah, cutting $1tn from the Pentagon is so easy.

its 1 trillion over 10 years meaning 100 billion a year.

So say you cut the projected defense spending by 100 billion next year you will make up for the deficit (as that means the projected defense spending each year for the next decade will be 100 billion dollars less each year than it is now).

You are literally the dumbest person on Atlas. And I don't even care if this gets reported for personal attack.

Hey, so I came up with a great idea for closing the $1tn shortfall. The population of the US is 320 million, meaning that if everyone donated $25 to the Treasury every month for the next 10 years, it would raise almost $1tn. Of course, it would be voluntary so it wouldn't be a tax, but who wouldn't give $25 a month to save the country? What do you guys think? Also, I came up with these tax rates:

$1-50k: 10.592%
$50-100k: 14.905%
$100-250k: 20.223%
$250k-1m: 24.535%
$1m+: 31.249%

Cut 10% of wasteful spending from every department and raise the retirement age to 67 years, 5 months, and 24 days. That should pay off the national debt within 15 years. Also, we need more immigrants from India because they are the best.

You don't just sit back and watch for an hour as a vote grinds on while you are the last remaining vote(s), then on a spur of the moment just say "oh yes, Nay".

Trolling - the foundation of modern conservatism.

So Corker and Flake might kill this thing or they are going to pass a half assed version of the already unpopular tax bill

Why is Flake even being considered

He's cuck of the year

I still say this title belongs to Ted Cruz.

Man calls your wife ugly and says your father was part of a plot to kill a president and yet you still vote for everything he wants in Congress.

He's even given up on being an outsider. Cucked by both Trump and McConnell!
