What if independent Greg Orman managed to defeat incumbent Republican Pat Roberts? Who would Orman caucus with? Would this have any profound effects following 2014?

Well, he had stated that he would caucus with the Democrats, but I don't know if that would have any long-lasting effect on anything

Anything that was passed with only Republican votes and would have failed with another No vote doesn't pass. Off the top of my head, that means Obamacare Repeal is many times more difficult and Devos is never made Education Secretary. I'm sure there are other examples of votes that would have failed if Orman won but I can't think of them right now.
