Glad to see a Yankee-free World Series.

Both would be deserving of being World Series champion, but there can only be one winner. Go Astros!

It would have been good for ratings.

Hope the Cubs go winless and humiliate themselves, otherwise I don't care.

I would hate to see the Cubs and their deplorable fans celebrate on our turf tonight.

We just witnessed theft on the highest possible level. They stole it from us.

In the end the trash got taken out 11-1, likely to lose a lot next year and was a team that barely made the post season. Future looking grim!

Brewers are only going to get better, you barely beat them in the end. Cardinals are always good and won't stay slightly down for long. Guarantee Arietta is gone, probably more.

We do not deserve such a good World Series match up. Seriously, these teams are really freakin good.

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/21166583/joe-girardi-not-returning-manager-new-york-yankees

Joe Girardi is out as Yankees manager...apparently getting to within one game of the World Series wasn't enough for Brian Cashman...or Hal Steinbrenner.

What a dumb decision. Girardi is a very good manager, one of the more capable ones in baseball.

In this Hal Steinbrenner is echoing his father... he would have fired Girardi too.

The Yankees are all about winning World Series championships. One championship (2009) is not enough. Girardi was a good manager, but the Yankees want more.

The Yankees are set up for a half decade - at least - of success with a great young core and payroll relief from older, bad players coming off their books. It's nothing more than virtue signaling to relieve a manager of duty who's known for wringing success out of young, developing players.

Put it this way, I would be ecstatic if my team swapped managers and hired Girardi.

Put on the game... it's a barn-burner.

7-7 and we're only in the bottom of the sixth.

This World Series may be one of the best in a while..even than last year's Cubs' victory.

Last year was special in its own way, but this year has been UNBELIEVABLY entertaining the whole way through.

P.s. go 'Stros

Agreed. Game 5 of this year's World Series has surpassed Game 6 of the 2002 World Series as my all-time WS favorite game NOT involving my Cardinals. Including games involving the Cardinals, it rivals 2011's Game 6.

I agree this series has been great for the fans. But in terms of suspense, I'm still with the 1991 Twins-Braves series. This series has a ways to go to beat fives games decided by one run, with four of those in the final at bat, and three in extra innings. To top it off was the game seven pitchers' duel that goes 0-0 through nine and a half as Jack Morris threw 126 pitches to go all 10 innings for the Twins 1-0 win.

My belly is in knots. How do people with consistently good playoff teams do this?
