The Hurricane Maria story's been going virtually unnoticed due to all the coverage of the NFL stuff. That's far more serious than a bunch of NFL players kneeling. Why was that?

I'm wondering if this hurricane will push Puerto Rico toward some sort of permanent resolution of the "status" issue (continued commonwealth status, statehood, or independence)?

This is the ongoing issue in Puerto Rican politics, and a complicated one.

That's in Congress's hands.

Yeah, there's been plenty of coverage. The thing with the NFL is that it is much more conducive to water cooler talk than Puerto Rico.

Its full of non white people and no electoral votes.  Why would certain people in this country care about them?
