I had forgotten just how many confederate flags are on display around town Even I find it trashy and annoying. 1 - 3 is charming. 10+ is overkill.

I started in the university's call center. Folks noticed my analytical talent and I was given a chance to do support work that was more suited to that talent. When I graduated, I was brought into the direct mail unit on a temporary basis to help with the Fall crunch and continued to distinguish myself. When an appropriate FTE position opened up, they approached me about it.

Well on the weekends you can fill us in on how horrible the elected officials are there and how much extra work you have because they're  horribles.  Smiley

I was working at ACT (yes, the test a lot of you took; it's headquartered in Iowa City!) in the finance department, and the woman who hired me saw my LinkedIn profile and emailed my dad to ask if I was his son.  They had worked together a long time (my dad working in finance at a hospital and her working in treasury management at a bank), and she said my resume looked impressive and asked if I might want to interview.  So, then I applied and interviewed and eventually got the job.  It obviously pays to know someone, but that was the best interview I have ever given in my life, too.

I walked into a career fair during my University's welcome weekend and got hired on the spot.
