A rightwing “news” site with
White House press credentials, bestowed by the Trump Administration, accused an innocent man of terrorism overnight. The “news” site identified the mass shooter as Geary Danley, who is, conveniently for them, a supposed political liberal and avid watcher of Rachel Maddow, that targeted Trump voters. None of this was true and they had no evidence to substantiate this serious accusation, yet they made it anyway and contributed to the disgusting rumors being spread on social media (primarily by the rightwing alleging the suspect was a liberal).
The actual suspect is
64 year old Stephen Paddock; at this time, his motivations are unknown.
