An interesting point I read on another forum is that if you took Paul to the present day and showed him what modern day Christianity is like, he'd find the emergent church more similar to the churches he was writing to in his epistles than the Catholic church (that he was per their claim one of the founders of) today.

What is with all these effeminate men with long hair???

You, you there with the cut penis! Why are you circumcised? You weren't born a Jew! Wait...almost ALL of you men are circumcised?

That...that woman in the pew in front of me isn't covering her hair! Doesn't she know her hair is her glory?

The Apostle Paul was opposed to women being pastors, in addition to numerous other things the OP and his church support.

Depends on whether you believe Paul wrote 1 Timothy or not.

I know that many of you think my type of church is weird, but I can assure you that it's still a place where you get to check out other members of the congregation's penis and see who's circumcised or not.

Actually he'd probably be rather pleased that women now receive equal education and have equal literacy allowing them to take leadership roles.

St. Paul would be horrified, in general, at how widespread circumcision has become among American Christians of all stripes. He writes in many of his epistles about it in very strong language...that if you're a Jew convert to Christianity, sure, be circumcised, but if you're a Gentile, there's no point in circumcision and that it's dangerously implying that you can be saved by the old Jewish covenant and not through Christ and risks cutting yourself off from Jesus' salvation.

But circumcision isn't a religious action for American Christians. And no one gets circumcised for that reason today.

Yeah, it's quite clear Paul was using his argument against circumcision as a signifier for his strong stance against Judaizers in the early Christian church.  I see no reason why he would be against medical circumcision, as opposed to ceremonial circumcision.
