Your opinion of former Senator Frank Church (D-ID). Became famous as Chairman of the Church Committee to investigate illegal activities by the CIA and others in the mid-1970s.

Big FF. Would have been an outstanding president.

Titanium FF. If I could hop back in time and rearrange exactly one executive ticket, I'd put Church on the ballot as Carter's running mate.

I think Church would have been a better president than Carter and he could have beaten Ford, too.

Probably true. For all of Carter's virtues and his few successes, Church likely would have been a vastly better administrator.

True FF. Should have been the nominee in 1976.

Don't know much about him beyond wikipedia and the odd mention but seems like one of the titans of the Senate

Should have gone much further in investigations than he did in the 70s.

FF on balance.

Why not just make Church the nominee?

Cause he would probably die in office.

FF on balance for working to bring the CIA to justice and for his environmental policy.

He sadly died in April of 1984, what would have been the last year of his second term (if reelected).
