(Assuming I have my current views, since "a version of me who was born in the 1700s" makes no sense) I probably would have supported independence, while disagreeing with many of the ideals of the resulting republic.

Probably a Patriot. My heritage would already slant me against the monarchy, and my views on government would probably lead me to support the new structure (even if it had flaws).
