According to Breitbart, Steve Bannon plans to challenge every sitting senator up for re-election in 2018, with the exception of Ted Cruz.  He will also support non-establishment backed candidates in open primaries. He hopes to mimic the success of Roy Moore's insurgent campaign.

Last week, Breitbart went on an all out crusade against Bill Haslam, which may be part of why he decided against running for Corker's seat. Bannon is firmly behind Marsha Blackburn.

The article also suggests he'll be backing Kevin Nicholson over establishment pick Leah Vukmir in Wisconsin, Danny Tarkanian over Dean Heller in Nevada, Kelli Ward over Jeff Flake in Arizona, and Chris McDaniel over Roger Wicker in Mississippi.

Bannon is also supporting Patrick Morrissey in West Virginia, over McConnells pick, Evan Jenkins.

Most interestingly of all, it looks like Erik Prince is eyeing a challenge of John Barasso in Wyoming.

It's Danny, btw.

But this is pretty interesting.

Hopefully there is not another Tea Party wave to knock out incumbents, though...

Oh right, Jerry was his dad. Fixed it.

I think it's great. Corker and Heller are both in the top 5 worst Republican senators. I say throw the bums out and force McConnell out of the leader position.

I actually like Barasso, but Erik Prince would really shake up McConnell and his cohorts, and that would be glorious.

Honestly, I can't think of a potential Bannonite who could challenge either Hatch or Romney. So Bannon might just stay out of Utah, thank goodness.

It's interesting actually, because Bannon likely prefers Hatch to Romney, because Hatch isn't conservative, but he also isn't anti -Trump  like Romney is. Romney is more conservative, but  also more anti-Trump.

The most likely person to get Bannons support is Chris Stewart, who has already said he'll run if Hatch doesn't. He's relatively conservative  (78% Heritage Action score vs Mike Lee's 100% and Orrin Hatch's 33%). It's not clear that he'd run if Romney does though.

Last night, Bannon more or less identified Boyd Matheson, a former Mike Lee chief of staff, as his pick in Utah.
