I no longer think there is any chance of Bannon being successful in his quest to dismantle liberal democracy and replace it with a fascist dictatorship, so him ripping apart the GOP and making them more clearly crazy and unelectable sounds great.

I think a key distinction between the establishment GOP and the Bannonites and Tea Partiers is simply one of intelligence. The former are generally fairly clever people while the latter are incredibly dumb. Having dumb Republicans in office makes it harder for them to get things done because they're so incompetent. As long as we have some people with brains running the military and the real diplomacy, that is a good thing.
