Basically, the Environmental Pollution Agency is prepared to dismantle Obama's Clean Power Plan starting on Tuesday. The bad news is obvious, but the "good" news is that it will take some time to repeal (e.g. the EPA is legally required to regulate emissions in some form).

Thoughts?

Related: I especially like the particularly oafish way the DoE has proposed to "save" baseload plants, which seems designed to piss off a giant coalition of people. It's almost as if it was a bad idea to appoint a halfwit to run a department that he doesn't remotely understand.

I read the New York Times version of this same story, and it's worth noting that even if the Trump administration were to jettison the Clean Power Plan, they would be compelled to offer an alternative lest a future Democratic administration were to impose an even tougher version of the one they just axed:
