No Leia, Luke, R2, 3PO, Thrawn, or Emperor?
They are iconic but not as iconic as these 4.

The Emperor is the main villain in Star Wars no doubt , but Vader is the more iconic villain .

And Thrawn isnt even known to people who just watched the movies ,as you had to read EU to know who he is.

Leia , and Luke maybe among people who grew up when the orignal cames out, but for all people I would say the 3 most iconic are Vader, Obi Wan ,and Yoda .

The Question is not whether they are iconic  but the MOST iconic.

Vader, without question. The most famous lines of the entire series ("No, I am your father", "I find your lack of faith disturbing", "You underestimate the power of the dark side") all come from him.

Luke Skywalker of course.

Of the choices listed, though it's either Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) or Han Solo.

Yoda.

Darth Vader, everyone says. But the bandwagon, join, I will not.

Strange syntax, Yoda has.  Reveal his species, George Lucas won't and Disney hasn't. "You must unlearn what you have learned"  "Size matters not" "And that iswhyyoufail", "Do or do not, there is no try", iconic lines these are, no? Hmmmm hmmm hmmm hmmmm.

Han Solo. Kuh. Harrison Ford he is. Luke Skywalker. Kuh. Audience Surrogate, mere audience surrogate.  Fade away one day, they may.

But Vader, his breath, Yoda, his syntax...vanish, they will not.

Don't underestimate the Marketing. Vader is the most iconic character. I doubt anyone can hum Yoda's theme but not Vader's, but the reverse is certainly quite likely..

By that logic, Luke wins because everyone knows that theme...arguably only the opening theme is more iconic than Luke's theme that plays with the twin suns.

Non-human looking characters will generally beat human-looking ones when it comes to iconic status.  That's why Donald Trump is more iconic than Barack Obama.
