In New Jersey, it is illegal to murder someone if you are wearing a bulletproof vest... as if the murder itself is not illegal enough.  (not sure if this is enforced any stronger than regular murder laws though)

lol

The Federal Arbitration Act is becoming an increasingly obvious one in light of conservatives' increasingly expansive reading of it.

Surprised no one has mentioned alienation of affection laws yet.

I think the "still enforced" part eliminates a lot of these even if they are technically still on the books.

Miscegenation is still on the books in Portsmouth Virginia, as is a ban on hypnotism and a ban on huffing glue without a permit.

Sec. 38-119. - Inhaling drugs or other noxious chemical substances or causing others to do so.
(a) It shall be unlawful, except under the direction of a practitioner as defined in Code of Virginia, § 54.1-3401, for any person deliberately to smell or inhale any drugs or any other noxious chemical substances, including but not limited to fingernail polish or model airplane glue, containing any ketones, aldehydes, organic acetates, ether, chlorinated hydrocarbons or vapors, with the intent to become intoxicated, inebriated, excited, or stupefied or to dull the brain or nervous system. Any person violating the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor.

Some of the worst are laws against cohabitation. I think there was a case in North Carolina or somewhere where a woman was denied some sort of government benefit because she was cohabitating.

"No pass, no drive" laws are laws that revoke driver's licenses from teenagers for bad academic performance - while rewarding those who bully them. These laws are actually classist (because kids from poor backgrounds are already discriminated against by schools), and they penalize kids with dyslexia.

Pretty much anything enacted by the fascist 104th Congress was bad.
Quickly googled no pass no drive, found it completely ridiculous. I had probably around 100 unexcused absences during my senior year but I had an A in every single class first semester and somehow if I were in Kentucky I won't be allowed to have a driver license.

Laws against assisted suicide and mercy killings.  Although these (particularly assisted suicide) happen all the time anyway and people are rarely prosecuted for it.  Mercy killings are more likely to be prosecuted, but it is common to only give people probation for it.

What are the worst laws on the books that are still enforced today? Can be state, local, or federal law.

For me, a few examples come to mind:

Marijuana – Recreational marijuana should be legal. It's pointless to lock people up for it.
Curfew – Local curfew ordinances in my opinion violate the 1st Amendment, specifically freedom of assembly. Also, they don't work. If someone is planning on committing a crime, they are going to commit it. They won't care whether or not they can legally be out at 2 AM.
Campaign Finance – Money does not equal speech. Period.
birthright citizenship.
